Jennifer Falls*

Jennifer Falls is beautiful 20' falls on an unnamed tributary of Third Creek.  The name Jennifer Falls is mine; don't know its name otherwise.

Type: Loop or Out-and-Back

Trailhead: Turn off Mt. Rose Highway in Incline Village onto Fay Street, then right onto Jennifer.  Go to cul-de-sac and park. Trail is at 10 o'clock from the cul-de-sac.  A trail at 9 o'clock leads straight up the mountain to the Rim Trail; a trail at 8 o'clock leads back behind housing on Jennifer.

Trail: The trail is overgrown so you'll need to bushwack a little to get down to the creek crossing to get to the falls.

Distance: 0.6 mi if done as a loop

Change in Elevation: 164'

Return: Instead of re-crossing the creek and hiking up the steep hill, make it a loop, head on the trail down the creek.  You'll need to cross back over the creek after 100 yards.  After the trail winds around to Third Creek, watch for a trail forking to the right and leading back up the hill.  You'll need to come out on jennifer between two houses, but don't worry, it's Forest Service land.

Flowers: Penstemon, Dogbane, Thistle, Ranger's Buttons

Trees: Mostly bushes in the creek bottom - willow, alder, manzanita, antelope bush
