Old Tyner Rd & Second Creek Falls

Creekside Trail Route

Jennifer Falls is beautiful 20' falls on an unnamed tributary of Third Creek.  The name Jennifer Falls is mine; don't know its name otherwise.

Type: Shuttle (preferred) or Out-and-Back

Trailhead: Turn off Mt. Rose Highway (NV431) in Incline Village onto Barbara Street, then left onto Jennifer, then right onto Tyner Way.  Follow Tyner to the top past the second intersection with Dorcey, turn left onto Marlenr.  Park at Forest Service gate on left. If you do a shuttle, park your second car on Lariat Circle by the Forest Service gate.

Trail: Downhill most all the way.  The creekside trail is single track, and you have to climb over some fallen trees; the Forest Service Rd is a standard graded dirt road.

Distance: 1.4 mi one way

Change in Elevation: ‚Äč800'

Hint:  You can get to the falls with the creekside trail that splints off the Forest Service Road about a 100 yards from the beginning (preferred), or by walking down the Old Tyner forest Service rd, and walking back up the creekside trail 100 yards when the FS Rd curves back to the creek.  Look for rail splitting off to the creek -- a little hard to see.   When you get to the falls, you can get a better view of the falls by crossing over 2nd Creek on the trail that leads up to Saddlehorn Dr on the next ridge.

Flowers: Penstemon, Paintbush, Monkeyflower

Trees: Jeffrey Pine, White Fir
