"Perfect Family walk"

Part of the Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park.  This is a scenic easy trail for the whole family.

Type: Loop

Trailhead: Park in the State parking lot ($5) off NV28 just north of US50, or a pull-off ($1) on US50 just east of NV28 (the Rim Trail parking at the summit.

Trail: Easy unpaved trail with little change of elevation.  Beautiful views  of Spooner Lake and the surrounding mountains. Lots of bird life -- have seen bear there.

Distance: 2.4 mi

Base Elevation: 6898'

Change in Elevation: ​  151'

Bikes: allowed but must park in State park parking lot.

Hints: Park on US50.  Closer access.  This trail also provides access to the Rim Trail and Marlette Lake

Flowers: A wide variety of fLowers are spread throughout, although you will not see huge meadows of flowers.  Look for: Wallfower, Lupine, Penstemon, Phlox, Paintbrush, Arrowleaf Balsam Root in June.

Trees: Mostly Jeffrey Pine with some huge Aspen
