This trail is a connector from the Tyner Road area to the Rim Trail at Rose Knob

Type: Out-and-Back, or a connector to the Rim Trail

Trailhead: Off Mt. Rose Highway, turn onto Barbara Street, left onto Jennifer Street, right onto Tyner Street, go to top of mountain, left on Marlene, then park at Forest service green gate (do not block!)

Trail: This is a difficult trail because it is virtually all uphill and steep going out, and the upper part of the tril through the Wooley Mules Ears is sansy and slippery.  At trailhead gate, go down Forest Service Road 100 yards.  Road forks - go right to begin up trek.  Road ends at tank, go around it to single-wide path.  look for big log on right.  Unless you are willing to do some bushwaking, you must crawl under it.  First part of trail is narrow between manzanita and antelope bush, then opens up as you go up the mountain.

Distance: 1.5 mi one way

Change in Elevation: 1500'

Flowers: Some amazing flowers on this trail.  Many varieties, including  Penstemon, Paintbrush, Lupine and huge fields of Wooly Mules Ears.

Trees: Jeffrey Pine at lower elevations; Red Fir higher
