Important update for all Life Time Tahoe Trail 100K riders as of July 18, 2025.

To ensure the best possible race experience based on current trail conditions and projected finishing times, we’re adjusting the 100K course from 3 laps to 2 laps.

New Course Distances:
2 Laps – 42.2 miles | 7,000 ft elevation
Qualifier for the Life Time Leadville Trail 100 MTB presented by Kenetik

1 Lap – 22.7 miles | 3,873 ft elevation
(No changes to the 1-lap course)

While we recognize this is a change from the original format, we’re confident the revised course will deliver an epic race day on the stunning trails of Northstar.

Please join us at Friday afternoon’s riders meeting at 3:45pm at the Overlook and we can answer any questions.

2025 Course Details:

This challenging course begins with a ride through Northstar California Village and onto the ski area trails, featuring flowing singletrack, mountain Jeep roads and exciting descents through the sculpted and bermed Northstar Bike Park. With 7,000 ft in elevation gain, the course finishes at the Overlook area of Northstar Village with plenty of food, entertainment and fun for the whole family.

THURSDAY

• 5:00pm – course will be marked – ride at your own risk – trails are open to the public as well – please be courteous!

FRIDAY

• 2:00pm – 7:00pm Packet pickup
• Location: The Village at Northstar – Overlook Pavilion
  • Get your participant shirt, race plate and answers to your questions.
  • Photo ID is required
  • Packets must be picked up in person
  • Packets will not be mailed or given to others
• 3:45pm Athlete Meeting – MTB (RUN partipants may join and ask questions)
  • Race staff will run through final details, last-minute changes, course descriptions and other important information.
• 5:00pm Kids Race

SATURDAY

• 7:30am – 5pm – Packet pickup
• Location: The Village at Northstar – Overlook Pavilion
  • Photo ID is required
  • Packets must be picked up in person
  • Packets will not be mailed or given to others
• 4:30pm Athlete Meeting – RUN
  • Race staff will run through final details, last-minute changes, course descriptions and other important information.

SUNDAY

• 5:30am – 6:30am – Packet pickup + drop bags deposited at start/finish area
• 7:00am 50K RACE START
• 7:10am 15K RACE START 
  • Location: Northstar Overlook Pavillion / Finish Fest area
    • 50k runners will go out first, with 15k runners right behind them 
    • Space is first-come first-serve.
• 9:00am-5:00pm Finish Festival
  • Location: The Village at Northstar – Overlook Pavilion
  • Join us for music, local brews, great food and even better company
• 2:00pm 15K Awards Ceremony
• 4:30pm Official 50K Finish Time
  • Runners must finish by this time to be eligible for the Life Time Leadville Trail 100 RUN presented by La Sportiva lottery
• 4:30pm 50K Awards Ceremony FOLLOWED by LT100 RUN Lottery
  • All awards will be presented at this time and must be picked up in person.
  • Awards will not be given to others and will not be distributed before or after the awards ceremony.
  • Stick around for an announcement to enter your ticket (attached to your race bib) into the drawing for your chance to win a coveted LT100 RUN slot.
  • Winners must be present to claim their spot, which they can utilize in 2025 or defer to 2026.

This challenging course begins with a quick jaunt through Northstar California Village and onto the ski area trails, featuring flowing singletrack, mountain Jeep roads and exciting descents through the Northstar Bike Park. The 50K boasts ~4,700 ft in elevation gain, while you can expect ~1,500 ft in elevation gain for our 10-mile run. Both courses finish at the Overlook area of Northstar Village where you’ll find plenty of food, entertainment, and fun for the whole family!

MTB 2-Lap Cutoff time

12:00pm – athlete must have began their 2nd lap at the mid-mountain split by 12:00pm

run 50k Cutoff Time

12:30pm – athlete must have passed mile 21.5 by 12:30pm

MTB

PLEASE NOTE: There is no bag drop for the 100k race or the 50k race. The mid-mountain aid station will be neutral support. 

This is also the spectator area, so you may have a family member or friend help crew for you at this location.

RUN

There will be a dedicated neutral bag drop area at the start/finish aid station. You can place supplies at this location beginning at 2pm on Packet Pickup day and before the race. 

Alternatively, you may have friends or family crew for you at the mid mountain aid station (accesible via Gondola).

Important Information & Rules

The North Lake Tahoe community is excited to welcome the participants of the Life Time Tahoe Trail! Your spirit and dedication to biking and running inspires our entire community.

• Leave no trace – No garbage, clothing etc., shall be thrown on the course!

• MTB ONLY: No Pedal Assist/E-Bikes allowed

• MTB ONLY: Helmets must be worn when on the bike, and your chin strap must be buckled
• MTB ONLY: Timing chip (on bike number plate) must be attached to the front of the bike. DO NOT wrap your bike plate or your chip will not read.

• Support Vehicles/Outside Assistance – You may not accept assistance outside of aid stations or approved spectator areas 

• DNFs must be reported to timing 

• No Pets on course

• No earphones

• DO NOT PASS PACE CAR.

Support Crews & Spectators

*IMPORTANT*

• Crew will be allowed to set up and assist their riders/runners at the mid mountain neutral support aid station (next to the gondola). For the run, crew can also choose to set up at the start/finish line as runners pass this location as well. Please review the course map to figure out which location would be better suited to your race planning.
• No crewing is allowed out on course, no exceptions.
